\nVery\u00a0cool art installation – 7 stacks of fluorescent colored rocks in the Nevada desert created by artist Ugo Rondinone. Really in the middle of nowhere, several miles off nearest exit from 1-5 freeway.\u00a0The brightly painted rocks stacked on top of each other make striking, colorful columns. Think neon Stonehenge. With\u00a0ample lot parking,\u00a0Seven Magic Mountains is\u00a0made\u00a0for photographs. And a great way to start a\u00a0Nevada adventure<\/p>\n

1 pm\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>check into\u00a0Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino<\/a><\/span>
\nWe\u2019re not on the strip. This\u00a0is\u00a0Downtown, the original Las Vegas. After all, this is a history tour we\u2019re\u00a0making.\u00a0Unpack, set up.\u00a0Good view from our window of Downtown and distant mountains.\u00a0Go for swim in outdoor heated pool. Lovely\u00a0refresh. Pool area is set up for lounging and\u00a0entertainment. Bar, food, sun,\u00a0shade \u2013 its all here.<\/p>\n

3 pm<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0visit\u00a0Mob Museum<\/span><\/a><\/span>
\nLocated\u00a0very conveniently just next door,\u00a0this is a\u00a0world-class, interactive journey through true stories –\u00a0\u00a0from birth of the Mob, to G-Men and Made\u00a0Men. Like it or not, American history. An eye-opening,\u00a0authentic view of organized crime\u2019s impact on the world and the continuing\u00a0battle between the Mob and the law. Interactive and multi-sensory exhibits engage\u00a0and give unparalleled insights while hundreds of artifacts immerse us in Mob\u00a0stories so completely, you feel as if\u00a0you\u2019re part of them. Don\u2019t miss this.<\/p>\n

5:30 pm<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0early dinner Grotto<\/a><\/span>\u00a0Italian Restaurant in\u00a0Golden Nugget Hotel<\/span><\/a><\/span>
\nWe walk toward the Grotto through \u201cthe Fremont Street Experience\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0Action\u00a0hasn\u2019t started yet \u2013\u00a0too early. We tour the hotel to view the 7 or 8 sharks that swim in\u00a0an enormous tank raised up in center of people pool \u2013 and a water slide through\u00a0the tank! Check out casino and various restaurants before settling in at\u00a0the Grotto for Italian\u00a0themed dinner, good red wine and amazing dessert!<\/p>\n

7:30 pm<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0enjoy\u00a0Las Vegas Photo Tour<\/a><\/span>
\nTour includes\u00a0limo pick-up, champagne, photographer and stops for iconic souvenir\u00a0photos: The Las Vegas Sign; Four Corners; Caesars Palace. Lots of\u00a0laughs when we add goofy props and set up weird poses. After each stop, another\u00a0round of champagne keeps the\u00a0party going. Our group includes visitors from\u00a0China, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Czechoslovakia, Thailand, Costa Rica. Everyone\u00a0joins in the fun \u2013 no holds barred.<\/p>\n

\nNow it\u2019s cooking!\u00a0Street performers every few feet, music from many directions, neon flashing lights, bodies flying on an overhead zipline. Showgirls strolling, bride seeking a\u00a0mate, Minnie Mouse, sculptor, spray painter, performing musicians, hula-hooping DJ –\u00a0restaurant tables and bars \u2013projections on dome continually\u00a0changing. Get the picture? Non-stop\u00a0frenetic engery.<\/p>\n
